Singing is a major part of the music culture at Winter Hill. Students begin singing in their very first kindergarten class and have many opportunities to sing alone, and with their classmates. Students begin singing rounds in 2nd grade and are able to sing in 3 parts by the time they reach the 5th grade.
There are two options for students at Winter Hill to continue singing outside of the general music classroom. Junior chorus is open to students in grades 3-5 and middle school chorus is for students in grades 6-8. Click on the links above for more information.
Students who work hard to improve their singing have opportunities to audition for choruses outside of Winter Hill and the Somerville Public Schools. Please see Ms. Stier for information about district level and all-state choirs.
